That is, until her life collides with Nathan.
Nathan and Charli's lives are connected in so many ways, and when Charli discovers just how they are connected, she won't know which one to trust: her best friend, the mysterious bad boy, or the man who was sent to protect her?
What will her heart decide?
Treacherous was interesting from the beginning. I think the thing that hooked me was the prologue, and the intriguing way it started. Not only that, but there was a specific topic they had talked about that made me want to keep reading to find out where that would take me.
This book has a very interesting thriller twist that I rather enjoyed. Going into the book, I didn't expect there to be any police work or politics involved in the story, and I was pleasantly surprised. I loved that the story was a complete shocker to me in terms of the reasons why some of the characters did things.
Speaking about characters, they were wildly divers in terms of their personalities. I loved getting to know all of them and seeing how they reacted to each other. Also, Laura has a way of making the characters do things that you would have never expected. This book was just a whole bunch of surprises rolled into one.
There were lots of twists and turns in the story. There were definitely a lot of things that were sprung at me when I least expected it, which I loved. I think that Laura did a great job at keeping the shock factor alive and keeping the story interesting.
The end of the book was absolutely fabulous. The author made sure to talk about what was really happening to the main character, Charli, and we had no idea the ENTIRE book. The ending was pretty much perfect. I definitely recommend this to pretty much anyone. I have to give this book 5 out of 5 stars!
