Learning more about what I do

I've been reading books for as long as, well, as I could read, and I've been reviewing them for almost 10 years now (if that doesn't make me feel old...). I've been learning about different genres, writings styles, and eras of books throughout my career but have I ever sat down and gotten a formal education? No.

Will I? Probably not. However, I have always wanted and still do want to teach myself a little more about the industry that I so very love, and that is why I have created myself a quick, streamlined list of books to read in an attempt to educate myself not only on a variety of different genres, but also on different styles of books, i.e. classics/traditionally published books that have done well, independently published books that are available on Amazon, and new releases from NetGalley that are just entering the book market.

That being said, for the next few months, or as I estimate, a year, I will be working my way through this list and sharing my reviews and analyses with whomever is interested - and I hope that you are. My review posts will contain a shorter review for those wondering if the book is any good, as well as a longer, in depth analysis of the book's content, writing style, genre appropriation, etc.

I will be posting a more in depth explanation of my method of analysis and my posting schedule later this week for everyone to see. I hope that this list can inspire some of you to take a deeper dive into the reading world, read outside of your comfort zones, and join me in this quest to educate myself. And the best part is, you don't have to follow my list exactly! You can plug in any books that you've been dreaming of reading, or follow my list to the letter. Either way, if you're interested in doing this with me, let me know. I'd love to talk about this with someone.

I believe that my passion for reading and writing has dwindled because I felt like I no longer fit into this world. This is my attempt at immersing myself back into this lovely community, and this hobby that I have sorely missed. I hope that you all enjoy the content that I will be producing for the next few months, and even if you don't, I hope that I learn something from it.

Thank you for sticking with me through the years, and here's to a new chapter (haha!) in my journey.
